Question about the factory short shift kit

Has anyone installed the factory SSK, I heard the factory one come with the entire assembly alone with a new bracket compared to B&M which just comes with the shifter and you have to cut up your original bracket. Does that make the Porsche OEM one easier to install?

thanks for any input.

You should consider the B&M Undercar SSK as well.

I put the B&M Undercar SSK in yesterday (Thanks to Justin at Brandywine) and it is VERY good. Not notchy whatsoever!!!

The shift is short and very smooth.

The best part was that it was cheap AND easy to install!

If you are in the SF Bay Area then we might give you hand with putting in whatever version you want to use.

I installed the factory one, half of the 'difficulty' is removing all the stuff to get to the 4 shifter bolts. The swap is pretty easy, just count the threads before removing the plastic connectors that attach to the cables...you'll know what I mean when you get there. I took high quality digital pics before and after of the threads so I could count and re-count.

The factory piece is the whole assembly, a drop in part.
As for under car vs the OEM kit, do a search.

Come by the shop Gobie.. I gotta tell ya', most people prefer the in-car shifter as the under-car one doesn't actually make that much difference. At least you can try out the difference before you do one or the other. We've actually replaced the under-car one with the in-car one at least 6-7 times already this year.

True, the in-car version is a ***** more notchy, but THAT is what makes it feel like a true sports car again.

Screw this silent exhaust, easy shifting, and very forgiving suspension crap. I want a car that I feel connected with.
