Yellow 996 TT's
#16
My TT is factory color to sample pastel yellow. It not for everyone but it sure unique. I haven't seen another one in North America yet. It do bring out the more the color with some black/CF accent. I've been use it as DD for a while and have no problem with it.

I just happened to recall,a local physician had a Cayman in SY and to be quite honest i thought the color was too solid,i didn't care much for it though ..
You think same color different car, would make any difference ?
I am now on the fence about purchasing the SY ? I think i would prefer the lighter and bit more brighter,Fly Yellow ?

I wasn't to sure about buying a speed yellow TT, untill I saw it in person then I had to have it. Luckily my daughters told me "Dad just get the yellow one" when I was on the fence about buying such a loud color.
Pretty much most women/girls compliment the car so it must look especialy good in yellow.
Funny enough seems like the guys always have some comment about cops or the unwanted attention it gets. Definately turns a lot of heads and I'm still getting use to that.

I almost bought a silver TT back in December 2010. I waited 2 weeks and bought a SY one. I love the SY color and the yellow stitching on the Sport seats. The smell of the leather is incredible.
It is flashy and have been followed by several CHPs within a 25 mile stretch of Highway 280. or just happened to see 3 Pacifica cops in different intersection within a 5 mile stretch of Highway 1. But also get alot of shouts from kids and such from across the block as I drive pass, "NICE CAR" or "Love the Color!

Speed Yellow is the most popular off the shelf color and looks great. Although 911s can be special ordered in many shades of most colors. There is definitely a lighter shade which I've seen in the past (although I'm not fan of that shade, sorry ray )

I love the yellow. I would have bought one when I was younger but I couldnt find one in yellow. I ended up with a guards red boxster. now that I am older (42) I am looking at silver or black or midnight blue.. I guess I am getting more conservative with age. Or maybe its just because I am married now.

I have to agree with Ari I don't like the pale yellow it's got too much white in it makes it look like a Speed Yellow car that's been sun faded but I gotta admit Ray has a unique color and with the cf accents it brings out that paler yellow quite a bit.... I personally love slate gray!!! or the dark blue color (Topaz or midnight I think it's called...I also love the Mexico Blue and Meteor gray on the current GT3 RS cars) ... and I like seal gray a lot, bith my X50 and my current GT2 are Seal gray...it's a classic color really shows the lines of the car and is a subtle and classy look which blends in just enough, but not as much as silver or black...
