Yellow 996 TT's
Hello Folks,
While waiting for a low mileage Seal Grey/Black 996 TT to pop up,i see quite a few yellow TT's out there for sale .
So my question is,what do you all think about driving a yellow 996 TT ? Is it too flashy for a DD ?
Btw,are there 2 shades of yellow as it seems like there's one light yellow (speed?) and there's one quite a bit darker yellow or is it just the lighting ?
Is it hard to sell this color ?
Any one in or around KY where i can see this color in person ?
Please advice ?

Yellow draws a bit more attention, a bit more unique, I've seen a few
nice yellow 999tt around town, I honestly like the color. Get some nice black wheels, possibly some other black accents and go with it.
I would consider it, I'm sure it's easier to keep clean than my black car

yellow does draw a lot of attention but it's a pretty cool color... black wheels on yellow and white cars have been overdone...go with a nice metallic wheel and a yellow lip, that would look clean...
never heard of two yellows for the 996TT, always thought speed yellow was all they had as far as standard factory colors (non custom) - what's the other yellow? got a pic?

I like yellow too. However, it's definitely more eye catching (which can be good it that's what you're looking for) -- because both the color stands out, and it's a rather unusual car color.

I have a SY coupe and its a weekend car, it draws tons of attention (loud exhaust & gt2 rear with CF), I would not want it as a DD at all.

yellow draws a lot of attention. both wanted and unwanted. its funa color for porsche and fairly easy to clean, hides scratches well.
as far as i know there is only one Speed Yellow on the Turbo, but there are other shades (paint codes) of it on the boxster and the regular carrera. i'm sure lighting and paint condition plays a big part in the pictures.

As for the "other" yellow, I've not seen it in person, but Rottech Ray has a lighter shade of yellow. I'm pretty sure he's got pics up in one of his threads, or if you PM'd him, he'd likely post some in here. Not sure if it's a factory colour, a special order factory colour, or a re-spray, but it is different. Actually, if you just search him, his car is in his Avatar.

I've usually only seen the Speed Yellow (which I agree, does look fantastic). I almost bought a speed yellow instead of the car I got. I wouldn't DD it, but it is hot. And FWIW, I prefer the yellow cars with the black wheels.

A few were special ordered in fly yellow and signal orange, which is sort of yellowish...
here is fly and speed
here is speed yellow and signal orange - a 70's color (IMO, very nice looking) - special order

I have seen a yellow TT driving down 101N out here in the Bay Area and I actually think it is the prettiest color these cars come in. My wife agrees, which is saying something, since she goes more by colors -"pointing to F360 Spyder, why dont you get one of these? This is a really pretty yellow"
I have also seen a boxster in more of the pastel, lighter colored yellow and didn't care for it much at all.
