to my defense , the gauge didnt work because the battery was replaced with less than 1/2 a tank of gas . Just read it in the repair manual....dope!!

Also $850.00 to replace sending unit ? That seems a little high $250.00 for the parts 1hr. give or take labor . So labor at the dealer is $600.00 hr. I dont think so.

They will have carried out a sender unit calibration using PST2 or PIWIS.
the tank would have to be drained completely the gauge sender unit calibrated then 22 ltrs of fuel have to be added to complete the calibration. I would have to check the WS Manual for the exact procedure, but its not just a simple as a fitting a new sender.

Now the fuel pump went out right after I took it to the dealer, literally . I was driving home and whining sound . Went straight back they said fuel pump went out? They did charge for parts only and a discount so I guess thats not so bad if they are telling the truth.

Could have been a problem as well all along. I thought it was fuel related......had that feel to it.
Any ways, at least its done now and you will have years of service from it.
