Finally back in the saddle from fried ecu

I am happy to report that I have finally finished the replacement and reflashing of my ecu that I seem to have fried by not being careful with a battery charger. Took a while to properlay diagnose but the guys at Porsche of Greenville SC and especially Julian there really took care of me and got this sorted out. Of course the new ecu had to flashed with the stock map but Kevin at UMW was kind enough to reflash it for a nominal fee and I am back to the previous glory of a modded 996tt. Car is running great and can't wait to put some more miles on her. Thanks again for every one who helped me with this issue. This includes you to Macster for sending me the pages out of the repair manual.

Can you describe a bit more how the ecu was fried with the battery charger? I just want to be sure I understand what not to do. Also, how much did the ecu replacement cost? I assume it's not a part that has to be replaced very often.

Glad to hear your ride is back in good shape!
