So .. the box had to be taken out and opened up...

you do not have to remove the box, it has a cover that you can take off to get access to the fuse. It's not too hard but it would be a lot easier if you take the seat off as it is a bit tight to take the cover out.

It did not help me that I was trying to do it all dressed up in the parking lot of my office lol

It is way easier to change this fuse by unbolting the driver's seat (4 bolts) and just lifting the seat out of the way (I didn't pull the seat out of the car when I changed my fuse). The alarm control module sits in a little "fox hole" under the seat. Once accessible you have to just turn a plastic securing ****/bolt to lift the module up to get access to the blue 15 amp mini-fuse. I didn't have to "open" the module because my fuse was accessible from the outside of the box. I hope this helps.

My remote died today at the office. Interestingly, it unlocked the door but the key wouldn't turn in the ignition. I got out and tried to lock/unlock the car and nothing, no red light, no bonnet open, etc. I got back in and the key turned and started the car. The battery was replaced about 6 months ago, going to try and pick one up on the way home; if that doesn't work will look into the fuse under drivers seat (and take pictures). Will advise on the outcome unless anyone has any other ideas on what might have happened. Thanks.

Good to hear you fixed the remote. The problem turning the key in the ignition was simply a matter of turning the steering wheel a bit to free the lock. It could happen to you again - it's not a problem with the key itself.

I changed the key remote battery couple of weeks ago because it was dead and everything was fine, last week it stopped working even though the red light on the key is blinking red, gonna look for that blue fuse tomorrow

OK, you could be screwed... If the key is activated out of range of the car (like say you are sitting on it on your pocket) and it activates 256 times (probably less than one minute of pressure on the unlock switch), the key will deactivate itself. At this point it can still be reactivated simply by putting it in the ignition, turning the car on, then off, remove the key and activate the lock within 6 seconds.

If the remote activation was more than 1000 times (say 4 minutes), they key is dead and Mr Porsche himself could not reactivate it.
