New member, Tough Decision ahead
I will agree the GT3 sound is incredible over the turbo
My two cents:
Two awesome cars. Both very different. From reading your posts and the back-and-forth in this thread you seem to want the GT3.
I have driven both, I have a Turbo "S" and a buddy has a 2007 GT3. The Turbo "S" will pull on him on long straights and it's fun to match up with him. But, in my opinion, I have more fun driving his car than my Turbo. The throttle response, the "raw" sound (his exhaust system sounds like an angry animal) from acceleration and down shifting are simply incredable! If you value the straight line pull and being able to mod a car to 1000hp, then the chioce is simple...Turbo. If you prefer the driving experience of the GT3, then you will never be happy in a Turbo.
Their are many videos out there of Turbo's pulling on track GT3's on long straights, no one will debate that, but the GT3 is one hell of a machine!
Good luck with your choice and let us know which way you went!

+1+1+1+1 It's very thru
Thanks for the info. I do enjoy the straight line performance of a car on an open road. Then again I am hearing so much about how I will love the feel fo the GT3. I need to get my hands on one and get behind the wheel. Still looking for one somewhat locally.
Livevil, I knew you were leaning that way! Again, I am crazy happy with my Turbo, but I am very glad that I get to drive my bud's GT3 from time to time. You will love the raw driving experience of the GT3! Post pictures soon!
I have considered a gt3 before. I know the sound is intoxicating but you can have that with an aftermarket exhaust. At the end of the day, the 97turbo still look sexy especially the rear end. Lindsay Lohan or Kim Kardashian. The choice is easy.

+1 for GT2 with a flash.
A TT not modded right will be a ton of problems. Modded right will be reliable.
If you have 80k what are u doing looking at 6TT anyway? You should pickup a 997TT or a 6GT2. 996 GT2 by the sound of what you're debating.
For a lot of daily: 997TT, absolutely not GT3.
For weekend driving only. Give or take what you like, crusing more or racetrack more. 6GT2 still will be more ***** than a 7GT3.
My choice today is easy, driving a 996TT 2WD with chassis mods somewhat similar to a GT2 - the car is faster even on very twisty racetracks than a 997 GT3, I drove both the same day on racetrack, both very well setup for track and with good tires. The GT3 was raw and I've been in love with those cars for years, but after this back to back I realized my car was somehow more fun to drive, more relentless punch, simply hauls a**, and still handles like a Porsche. If I ever want to go faster I can turn up the boost, or add 19" MSP Cup tires. Possibilities are vast for reasonable $$. For GT3 you can't really add power without huge $$.
So you have to ask yourself, do you REALLY care how fast the car is, or do you care how fast the car seems to yourself and other people.

I am truly looking for a car that not only lookings great, drives amazingly, will hold value, and is not going to be in the shop after I drie it a few times. I owned an Audi a few years back and after some significant modding it was downhill.
The 997 GT3 is the better / newer style / track choice.
The x50 is laggy compared to a K16, but the K24, has more of a push that you'll feel. I am pretty bored in a K16, even with a reflash.
The 997 is gorgeous, but I'll take a turbo for a street car any day of the week, I have a thing for FI. Besides, if you get bored with the K24, a $1500 reflash will make it fun again. Milking power out of a GT3 is going to be much harder or at least much more expensive.

If you want a high powered highway roll on car, get the Turbo.
I just need to drive the GT3. Still not able to locate one near me. I can't say that the feel of that Turbo car was not insane. I added a pic of the Turbo I am looking at. I'm not a fan at all of the wheels but that means nothing. We all know what a GT3 look slike havent chosen just one yet. I know everyone keeps bringing up the 997 Turbo's but I have not found one in White or Red with the options that this car has.
