I suspect that the magazine drivers do NOT brake torque the Tip when launching it. Brake torquing substantially increases acceleration times for Tips.

Close?

My project has been delayed by the machine shop that is shuffle pinning my case. They specialize in race cars and are currently booked solid with priority jobs. Their initial estimate of one week has been stretched out to three weeks. According to Stephen at IA, they are the best in the business and, therefore, we are hostage to their delays. If the case is finished by the end of next week (the current estimate), the engine will be done a week later, and will be shipped back to SG for final assembly.

In the meantime, I have dramatically expanded the scope of the project. I am now changing/modifying everything between the turbos and the manifold, including the intercooler end tanks, Y-Pipe, throttle body, intake plenum and all related piping. SG has had these parts custom made . . . Ill post photos later this weekend. I am also installing some JRZs and related suspension mods.

go faster is infamous around these parts
i guess that it is personal preference.. i have spent considerable time with both the ferrari F1 and current generation SMG. the downshifts are great but the upshifts are marginal.. the tip on the other hand, upshifts effortlessly at redline (when your foot is planted) every time and the downshifts are perfect, whether you are on the street or track. the SL55 trans is just like the porsche tip and is pretty great. (i think my mechanic told me that mercedes uses similar technology for their amg trans) i am also told that the next generation tip will be even better so i can tell you now that is my future.. drive one at the limit and experience what the tip has to offer.. as far as being a little slower, i am happy to make that tradeoff.. because i bet that it is barely noticeable...
