C4 wheels for my 996TT

OK everyone, I've tried to figure this out and now I have to confess my ignorance. I have a '02 996TT that I'm doing a lot of upgrading on. I've come across a guy who has a set of 8.5 X 19 and 11.0 X 19 forged wheels that I'm interested in. He doesn't know the offset, but he says he was running them on his 996C4. So I'm wondering if they will fit my car (stock suspension for now). How do I measure the offset, and how to determine if they'll work for me. No tires on the wheels so I can't try them on and see. Thanks for any info and for my education.

If he had a 996 C4S then the offsets would work on the Turbo as the C4S has the same wide body as the turbo.

If the wheels are from a narrow body 996 c4, then you will need spacers to have the wheels sit correctly.

as mentioned above, the wheels will fit if they are from a widebody C4S.

If you're still unsure, just measure the "backspacing"
