Need some Expert Advice

I was looking at a Almost NEW 2005 Turbo Cab S (used) at a local Lexus Dealership last week.

It was magnificant except when I opened the hood in front there was no white sticker glued inside as I have on my 2003 listing the options etc.

The Turbo S has 750 miles on it and I am wondering if it got into a wreck since the white sticker was missing. I think the dealer was asking $118K for it, not 100% sure.

Did they put that options white sticker on Turbo Cabs? If so, why was it missing on a brand new car?

Thanks,

Cabman

Sticker should be there, but not 100% of the time. Could have come off, but also could be a repaint.

Pull a carfax and see if the seller will give you the prior owner's name.

Find out where the car was first sold too, and ask some questions.

Bought my car used as well. It did not have a sticker either. I was concerned as well. I called 2 Porsche dealers to inquire. Both said the sticker is applied at delivery (usually by a kid working in the service department) and sometimes they forget or simply don't apply the sticker.

Hope this helps.

My salesman put the white sticker for my new Turbo S in my warranty booklet (there's a place for it there). You can do a Carfax, but it'll only disclose serious wrecks and even then not reliably. Take it to the Porsche dealer for a PPI, and between that and checking service history by the VIN, you should be fine. Furthermore, if the Porsche was taken on trade for the Toyota, the dealer should let you contact the prior owner.

Good luck.

I am so glad I didnt broach that subject with the Owner of the Dealership and tell him his like new Turbo Cab S was in a wreck.

The guy will have it for sale in a few weeks. He wants to drive it for a bit before selling it just because he has never had such a nice car.

Real nice guy. He told me he got a good deal on it and it originally stickered for $148,000.

Wonder why someone would trade a car in that cost $148,000 after putting on 750 miles a month later?

Just doesnt make sense to me.

I think he purchased that big Lexus sedan.
