GTR to 997 Turbo! Need advice on a 997!
SubscribeI'm on my 2nd GTR now and looking to get back into a Porsche but been out of the game for awhile!
Local dealership in town has a 2009 911 Turbo with a few goodies on it like carbon fiber mirrors, wing, and carbon doorsills.. The car also seems to have a aftermarket exhaust and GT3 style wheels or actual GT3 wheels.. Can't tell from knock offs or real... The car has about 31k miles and 4 previous owners.
They are asking 84k for it... I thought it was kind of high for the mileage but I could be wrong...
What do you guys think this car would be worth? They are trying to stay firm on the price because of the carbon goodies but not too sure how much these factory carbon parts cost.
Here is a photo

Any help and advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Welcome!,
Carbon fiber additions shouldn't be a negotiation factor. I hate to say this on the thread but, its aftermarket and not OEM, and needs a specific buyer outside what Porsche originally sold on its sticker.
You may want to look at the engine also. The exhaust, taillights, front turn signals and rims (as you mentioned) are not OEM.

The car is lowered too. Check for aftermarket springs or coilovers.
The tail lights are OEM. Solid red lights were a factory option. The side marker lights are most likely OEM European markers. The exhaust tips aren't OEM, and I would imagine the exhaust system has been modified. The carbon fiber bits are probably not OEM. The wheels could be OEM, but you would need to remove them to verify this.
It's a beautiful car, but the price seems high for the age, mileage, and number of owners. It doesn't have PCCB brakes, which are an expensive option.
Personally, I would expect to see that car sell in the mid 70s, including a CPO warranty.

That is a great price. Is yours a tip or manual, how much CPO warranty is left on the car? Doing a ppi and dme is very important. When I was looking for a turbo I tried to get the dme before paying for a ppi because it can be a deal breaker. I looked at a car before and the owner claims that he bought the car lowered from the dealer with CPO so it's possible.Originally Posted by Code Red
I just bought an '09 with 33k, one owner, very clean DME, with CPO for $75k. Have you seen the DME report? I dont think that they will CPO that car w exhaust, lowered, etc.
Thank you all for the good info!
I'll try and take a peek at the suspension and also check the inner wheels... What kind of stamp would I be looking for to see if the wheels are OEM or not?
Also not sure what a DME report is?
Thanks!

Good point on the potential inability to CPO the car due to modifications. In my opinion, this should lower the price by $3K - $4K. See if they will throw in an aftermarket warranty if they won't CPO it.
You can tell if a wheel is an OE wheel because it will have a Porsche part number stamped on the inside. An example of a 997 GT3 front wheel part number is: 997.362.156.95. It's hard to tell if those are OE wheels based on the photos. I don't think they are OE wheels, but I could be wrong.

Nice!! A DME report shows many things but the most important thing is that it shows if the car was over revved. I bet if you call the dealer asking for a DME report they will run one for you for no charge if you show that you are a serious buyer. Do a search on this forum under 'ppi' and it will give you some direction. Since it's an 09 I doubt any aftermarket company will offer a reasonably priced warranty. If they knock off a few thousand and make it a CPO I think it will be a decent deal. I took 4 months to find my CPO 07 so it may take sometime to find a clean turbo. I remember a dealer selling a lower mileage cream white CPO 09 997tt for 70k, it was sold in a few days, lol.Originally Posted by Code Red

85 K is not too far out , since the miles are relatively low, and there is another thread here that says that not many 09's were made. If the DME checks out and you can get a warranty, might be ok
