Cost to paint front spoiler lip?
Thanks for your reply. I got a quote of $250 to paint the 996tt aerokit-type front lip -- seems a bit high.
$250 seems high for aq lip but that's about right if not less as mentioned, body shops charge a lot these days...
I would just leave it unpainted of do it yourself using duplicolor, scuff, tack cloth, then spray and clear...save you a lot of $$$ ...
Porsche considers the front lip a consumable so you can always get another one if this one gets cracked or damaged while on the car...

^^^ Alpha give it a shot bud...it's down low on the car for starters so it's a good learning part to work on, even if you did mess it up. it's a small part so just block sand and primer and reshoot the part again off the car...

The CF lip is very nice. My main concern is that it is less flexible than polyurethane, and more prone to cracking when bumped/scraped (which is what happened to my fiberglass lip
).
).
You can paint them really easily yourself. The best advice if you haven't spray painted car parts before is to make sure you go lighter with the amount of paint than you think you need. You can always put on another coat, but getting rid of drips can be a real pain on a plastic/fiberglass part.
I got my carbon lip for a steal. I have the MA Shaw GT2 front bumper and they only charged my $225 for the lip and no extra shipping since I was buying the bumper already. I got another lip at the same time since I figured I'd wreck the first one at some point and they only charged me $150, and again since it fit in the same box, no shipping charge. Deal of the century if you ask me! The first lip has held up really well but has its war wounds. It's basically impossible to not scrape it every few thousand miles. The main reason I won't lower my car is because I already have trouble with it at stock height.

Just get it painted the right way. If you think the price is so out of line compare it to another body shop in the area and take it from there. No point to paint it yourself if you don't know what your doing, going to cost you more then $250.00
