Whilst I'm refurbishing my wheels I thought I'd have a go at my calipers too

The clearcoat has come away in places, so I'm going to scuff them and reapply

What's the best thing to use to remove the dirt and brake dust etc?

I thought I should ask as I seem to recall somebody using a brake cleaner which 'melted' their paint and decals
