Hi Guys, I've done some searching into the clutches and flywheels. I know of all the options but i wanted to look more into the 964RS single mass conversion. I'd like some input from ppl that have done this conversion. Does it make the tranny rattling like other single mass flywheels, how does the shifting feel, how is it for launching at drag strips? Just like to get an idea of what its like to live with! Thanks guys! Also, what is required when doing this conversion, i.e. a longer release bearing? which flywheel bolts? Thanks! Sorry for all the questions.
LWFW is a LWFW, so the rattle's there. Rather annoying at times but I still wouldn't change. You will need specific release bearing, but I can't remember which flywheel bolts I used. It's all in the PET.
Can't say anything specific about shift feel or launching, since it's the only combination I've driven with...

Thanks mike! How is it for driving tho? in comparison to the stock DMF?

In my opinion, this isn't a "drag" mod. Dual mass flywheels actually help with launching from my understanding.
The "benefit" of the LWFW is the ability to heel/toe shift quicker and the speed at which this car revs... it's phenominal in the change made in that regard.

PS. BLockhed...how is the engagement? Do u take ur car to the drag strip? Has it helped with lag by revving up quicker? Is it harder to park your car and creep in traffic? Thanks for ur help in making my decision!
I dunno, it clamps 880lbs/ft and my car should be circa 600lbs/ft. So i just thot, best bang for buck is a puck!
Or am i going to damage stuff by going puck?

Puck will probably make you damage drivetrain parts simply because it's an ON/OFF clutch. Why not go with the clutch masters stage 3, been proven and people have no issues with it. I wouldn't experiment and try to save a few bucks because in the end it'll cost you 3 times as much.
I love the sound of the transmission with the engine noise of solid motor mounts. It really makes the car sound "alive" With the 997 transmission mount, the rattle has quiet down drasticly at idle.
This is the sound it produces. This is on a private road in Guadalajara Mexico i was driving on. If i get judged for htie video i'll take it down. But you can hear the sound it makes. Epic if you ask me, you can hear the mechanics working. Also you can see how it sounds and how fast it revs etc. I'm still on k16's as well.

Don't know about the 964 FW but the AASCO unit rattled like a mother and was very hard to drive in stop and go traffic. It was a NEGATIVE mod IMO. I paid to put it in and to take it out...
