Value of x50 package
I've heard from some that an X50 car, with free-flowing exhaust, 1 bar WGs, 5 bar FPR, and tune can get to around 480 whp... that would be right around 585 crank with a loss assumption of 18%. Pretty stout for the relative simplicity of the mods involved.
That sounds about right.

No wastegates, no fuel mods at all? I'd love to be wrong, but that sounds kinda high to me...
It is great if you do not plan on going mad with mods.
If you think you will keep the turbos and intercoolers and just plan to get it flashed, put a new exhaust on then it is totally worth it.
My friend has one, just had it flashed at techart and the flash together with the exhaust resulted in 600 crank hp. They had to reduce the boost as his clutch started to slip but even at 1.0 bar it still showed 560 crank hp.
Remember it sounds expensive to add just 35 hp like you said but you should not forget you are getting K24 turbos and a bit better coolers with this package.

Really,,When my car was a stock X-50,,I had it flashed[GIAC],Cargraphics med. exhaust,DV valves and stock K+N panel filter in a Vivid dual snorkel air box,, it made 506 HP and 517TQ on a rear wheel Dynojet at the Porsche Exchange dealership. And I was a bit rich also according to Andrew from GIAC ..If you do a search you will see others have got alittle more,,in the 5teens also..

True, you do have a point....But,,,,If you ever drove a flashed X-50 with an exhaust it is a better feel,,,IMO
I researched this really thoroughly before I bought my Turbo and decided I didn't want it. What I found, is top speeds are nearly identical, acceleration times are nearly identical. Non X50 turbos spool quicker and the car will pull and accelerate quicker at a lower RPM. Throttle response will feel better at slower speeds at lower Rs too. X50 will pull harder in the upper midrange and at higher speeds.
Crusing the canyons and like boost coming off slow turns and accelerating fast on short straights, I think non X50 the way to go. Autobaun type running where you want serious pull and you're already going fast and somewhat up in RPM range, the X50 will do it.
I have seat time with both. My brother had an X50 cab that I drove several times and compared to my non X50. My car felt more responsive and pulled harder even after he put a lower restriction exhaust on. His car was fast, it just had to reach higher RPMs before you could feel the turbo rush. He was happy with the X50 but only drove my car once and that was in city traffic.
My take on what I've experienced.

Just my experience, but when I bought mine I valued both the X50 and Aerokit options at .30 on the dollar. I felt as though that was good value for me.
The people that bought a car with x50 seem to naturally value it higher, and those that either didn't care or wanted X50 but couldn't find one seem to naturally value it lower.
I think the most usefully info is from just the people that bought one with it, gives you an idea of what kind of premium buyers have actually put on it.

Strictly value wise, its worth what you could additionally sell the x50 parts for. Problem is someone paid 17000$ more for it and a seller isnt gonna let this fact go, but hey....its a buyers market and we set prices! Its pretty well limited to the turbos. 1500-1700$ on a good day! IMO the IC's exhaust and any beef to the tranny is of no worth. I would not buy for anymore than 2500$ over base value. Only reason to get an x50 is to get quick access to K24's that u know work well. If keeping it stock not worth it! If you want to mod from K24 platform the IC and exhaust are going in the trash soon i hope. Id buy k16 base and add from there but thats me.
I have a X50 package laying around the shop. It came off a car with 25k miles that has not been tracked. The client has installed a Switzer p800 kit on the car. I also have a Switzer exhaust with high-flow cats and cat delete options that has been used for less then 1000miles. Let me know if you want it.
