EVOMS GT700 kit

Anyone on this forum install the GT700 kit in their 996? If so, was it worth the investment? Pluses and minuses?

Thank you,

Riley

Anyone? Beuller? Beuller? Im looking at this kit to install over our winter. Would be nice to hear thoughts from forum members who have done it and to know if it was good value for the money?

Thank you.

I have the GT660 kit installed. Back in the old days (actually only about 3.5 years ago), the components were identical between 660 and 700 including the turbos (GT2871 Garrett Ball Bearing). The only differences between 660 and 700 were GT700 had more fuel and a different tune.

Now days, I believe those kits have switched to the Alpha turbos and most other components are about the same as when I had them done. I believe EVOMs offers very reliable kits and they do stand behinds their products. My kit is going into the fourth year now and I haven’t had one single problem (knocking on wood) with the whole turbo system. And I’m 100% sure that SharkWerks will help me sorting things out if I ever have problems.

Performance wise, with everything equal, a 700 crank hp car will be beaten by an 800 hp car but it will beat a 600 hp car; that’s the rule. EVOMs kits are not the cheapest; however, you are getting a very reliable 700 hp.

I have this kit plus some extras. The A28s are a fantastic turbo for the street. There boost threshold is essentially equivalent to K-16s but they have a lot more power across the whole band. The kit makes a great DD and is not too hard on a stock block. You can get a reliable 600whp on pump and 650 whp on race fuel with this kit.
