Tire shop that will not damage rims in Orange County?
Tom cares about my wheels as if they were his own...that's the difference. When you pay 4K to 6K for wheels, you want piece of mind that it's going to go right. On top of that, good service should be rewarded with repeat visits.
Best equipment as well. For guys like us, when it comes to our cars most things are not little things. Every detail counts and mounting a tire falls into that category, IMO.

There is no need to insult you. Your 4,000+ posts on this board about nothing speaks volumes on its own. Maybe if you actually owned a Porsche you'd have something smart to say.

Your posts are pretty quality as well tyson. Of all the people who can talk ****, it's real funny comming out of your mouth. If you've got a problem w/ me, let's hear it. And let's not make it your typical reply "i'm better then you because I have more money, have a porsche, tear up the canyons, etc, etc."

As I said, i'm sure you are a nice guy, and some of the people i've talked to that have met you have verified this. But man you come across as a pompous *** a lot.

Agreed, hence why I sent him to a shop I think is more then qualified to handle the job as well
Technically you take a chance no matter where you go, i'm sure Tom could **** up as easily as anyone else. It's a matter of how they handle the **** up that makes the situation a good or bad one. I have no doubt that if something did happen Shoreline would be as quick to please as Arling would. I know many high end local shops that use them and trust them. Hell if Chip trusts them w/ his 20K one off's I'd think they'd be pretty reliable
But seriously, i'm not here to start an argument

Is it really by accident that so many Porsche and Ferrari owners trust only Tom to work on their cars?
The difference is that in the rare, minute chance that Lucent actually ****ed up a wheel, they would more than make it up to you. Their customer service is unparalleled and many people here can vouch for that!

So that means if I ever come down I need to bring my equipment because I assume my free detail job will be cleaning one of your cars for free

Seriously, how did this get into an argument on putting rubber on metal?
Another option Bon, (I believe Garey Cooper is the one who recommended them to me) is Best Value Tire on the corner of Gothard and Talbert I believe.

Scott, my problem with you is that you are ignorant about the subjects that you comment on. You try to use every opportunity to attack me when you have no basis. I actually know quite a bit about Porsches, do YOU?
You are the last person who should be talking **** and making the asinine statements that you do to people who can actually own these cars.

FYI, this is the kind of balancer they use at Shoreline

Don't know how it compares to the Hunter machine though.

If I recall correctly, you attacked me in this thread, not vice a versa. I know quite a bit about porsches, and a vast amount of other cars, and if you want to have this argument again we can. I'm sorry I don't have plenty of cash to throw away on my cars like you do. I turn my own wrenches and do what I can w/ the resources I have available.
Who have I ever attacked on this board other then you? You seem to get your fair share of attacks, but you still dish it out way more then anyone. The best part is everytime you bring up the "you don't own a porsche" comment to me, or start talking ****, I get multiple PM's from other member saying they like me here and that your mouth is apparently to big for your foot to fit in.
But once again Tyson, you just did a wonderfull job at showing yourself off

I'm curious, what "asinine statements do I make to people who can own these cars". Again, sounds like you are making your typical "I have more money then you" statements. And you've again proven that money can't buy class. I'm sorry i'm a 23 year old kid who hasn't had the chance to get out on his own, make his own money so he can get out and buy a porsche. I'm here because I enjoy talking about cars as much as anyone else, you are the only one that seems to have a problem w/ it. I'm here to learn, read, discuss just like everyone else. My political views/knowlegdge may not be up to your caliber, but that's not why we are all here is it.

I live in Newport Beach and I would only let Tom and Arling at Lucent mount new tires on my wheels. I guess I belong the in the crazy category. I drive to Lucent because I want things done right the first time so I don't have to go return back to Lucent (not in the bad way). I look at the 1.5 hour round trip commute as an investment because I know it will be done right the first time around. I do not want go to a place that is located 15 minutes away and having to go there twice along with the aggravation of knowing the job wasn't done right the first time around.
I just had a full set of tires put on my Pcar last week by Lucent. Without a doubt it is a distance from my home in OC, but the visit to Lucent is sure worth it. "Peace of Mind" with any work done on my Pcar at Lucent.
Thanks to Tom & Arling,
