Guys!
Eddie Bello represented Porsche outstandingly last weekend at the Texas Invitational! Eddie won the 6 speed competition outright and got to the semis of the King of the Street competition before he had a breakage which ended his chances in that competition. He beat several 1400-1500+ whp Lambos along the way while trapping over 180 mph on the half mile run!!
The significance of this achievement cannot be overstated!!! For those whom have never been to TI before, the level of the competition is unprecedented! It makes the Texas Mile look like a kids go kart meet... Dont bother showing up with less than 1000whp... 1200-1550 whp cars are competitive... No P-car has ever given a the Lambos a run for their money until NOW!
During his runs Eddie set some fast 60-130 (3.68s) and 100-150 (2.96s) times for the board. These are not dedicated runs mind you. The 3.68s 60-130 has two very leisurely shifts! LOL!! Dedicated runs would be significantly faster!!
Congrats Eddie and Tim!!!

BTW the run distance at TI on Saturday and Sunday was 1380 feet from the last green flag to the finish line, not a half mile. Realistic run distance was 1450-1500 feet considering the light turned green before the last green pacing flag.
#819
Yes, but you get a 60 mph or so running start before the green...
#820
That chart looks a little rough. Is that the run where he was breaking up?
#821
I dont think so. To me its relatively slow shifting combined with tremendous torque when he puts the throttle down. Not saying Eddie is poor shifter. He probably wants to be sure shifter is all the way in the gate before he hits it.

I was referring to the above statement you posted. It was not a half mile run, it was a little over a 1/4 mile run or around 1500 feet. The running start does not count in the "pull" distance.
#823
So you get a couple hundred yard "headstart" (for lack of a better term) and the race starts when the light turns green....which could be anytime...you have to be ready...And if you are not ready...you will be playing catchup...
#824
It was strange. there was a 8 second car there that got knocked out quick. he was trapping a little higher then normal 1/4. It seem the roll is not helping you.
#825
Maybe he has 1/4 mile gearing with crappy spool? (Assuming it was a turbo car?) 60ft doesn't matter...
It seems to me, for this event, you need a fairly high HP, quick spooling turbo car, that revs high, with a driver that has a good attention span...
