Question about no charge from the generator
Hi,
I have a strange thing with my 996 Turbo -01, but before I try to explain it I just want to tell you that I probably will not use exactly the right words...but I hope that you will understand me anyway.
As I sad, I have a strange thing with my 996 Turbo -01. Every time I have washed the car and I start the engine there seem to be now charging from the generator...or at least the voltmeter isn't moving above 10-11 volts.
This is for about ~15-45 sekund, after that it starts to charge and the voltmeter shows something like 13-14 volts. There is no "whining" sound from the fan belt, and when I had it at the dealers for service they checked the fan belt and said that there was nothing wrong with the belt.
Otherwise the generator seem to work just fine...
Besides this I have another small most annoying oddity with my car...and I am starting to think that they some how are conected to each other.
Hmm..this will be hard to explain...
Sometimes it seems as if the engine hesitate, or it can even feel like a small shake/jerk, when you "step on the throttle"...especially when you do it gentle, for instance when you are driving slowly in town.
It doesn't matter if the engine is cold or warm, or if it is dry or wet...this problem appear at random..
When I drive the car "hardcore attackmode" the engine revs like a dream, and there is definitely no hesitation at all....unless I mistakenly hit the revlimit..
Now I really hope that you understand my "swenglish" (swedish/english)...
Many thanks!

Water gets on the accessory belt and it slips. If you turn off the A/C compressor for a minute the belt won't slip as much. The hesitation is a driveability issue turbos have. It occurs when the variable valve timing and lift change modes. You'll learn to ignore it.
I get the same thing after my car wash... Ihave oveer 30k miles- no problems... forget about it.
