Double DIN Unit - NAVIGATION

For guys who did it;

When I pull out my radio and the aircon unit, what will I find behind there installed by the factory? Is there a metal base ready for direct insert of an aftermarket double DIN unit or not?

Also what is best option; to insert aircon unit instead of the CD Storage box or instead of the empty storage box - right at the bottom? And if relocating aircon unit to the very bottom, are the cables long enough or need I purchase additional wiring loom?

Any new installation pics from guys who did it - any new units, show me your installs please?

Thanks

I haven't done that, but taken out the radio and HVAC panel. They're in a bracket ( IIRC ) that can be replaced for a double DIN unit.

HVAC wires are so long that replacing it to the place of CD storage is not a problem. As a matter of fact if you'd have the OEM NAV then HVAC would be there in place of CD storage.

All the stuff is interchangeble in the center section of the dash/consol. You might need some different trim plates (see Suncoast). I have the OEM NAV with a single din slot under it and HVAC under that.
