What do you think you will save? $10.00?

WHATS WRONG WITH A GROUP BUY THAT OFFERS A DISCOUNT?

I dont see anything wrong with that...

shoot if the "right thing" is to buy items at msrp.. then whe should never ever get and discounts off the cars we buy, mods we , buy and furniture tooo buy...

it is okay to get a discount bec.. there are basically three price structures for a certain item, firts the lowest is the cost price, 2nd is the middleman or jobber price and lastly is the list price the one that is available to us...

middle man distributer's price is usually way in the jobber and the cost price structure.. they should have plenty of leeway to give the buyer a discount off the top /list price?

basically what some of u guys are saying is that it is essentially and maybe a bit morally wrong for us to get discount off list price? correct me if im wrong

We already had a group buy. Many of us...It was 30 days ago...at the asking price...no complaints here. You are asking for a discount from medium to small businesses. Let them make their profit.

agreed 100%

when you place an order for a bulk amount the price usually reflects a lower price per unit.

Not only that but the Evo intake is very new and has yet to exchange a good travel of word of mouth. Word of mouth is the #1 advertisement in small business. I think this is what Evo understands would take place to get us enthusiasts to really start talking about their product. This initial offering would increase overall profit in the long term, there is no doubt about it.

Not sure why some of you are getting upset. Every car message board, and there is many, i've ever participated in supports group buys.

I AGREE WITH u john.. w/o word of mouth advertising, the sale of a niche product would not be high... us enthusiast are what makes the companies be alive... any amont of r&d, etc... done wont me jack if no one actually buys it...

Free Market Economy

I am really enjoying the banter about the workings of a free market economy. I have been addressing these distrubitor verus selling direct questions for the last year in my business. Without success I must admit. I am confident in the end, all parties will walk away happy. I will say that it is Evo's job to have had this situation figured out with their distrubitors before an issue like this came up. If they missed this situation in their distribution agreements than it is up to Evo and its distributors to quickly resolve these type of issues for the future. Not having these checks and balances in place, will as you see, cut into the profits of this great item. Good Luck

I'm in, dependant on price. I could use the extra 40hp.

I think one of the higher stages (700/800hp) saw a sizeable increase on the dyno.

Direct quote from the other thread:

Now, on the same day almost at the same time EVO was dynoing a test mule. All their test were done on a 248C DynoJet. Rear shaft uncoupled and on RWHP figures. Test mule is the GT800 package. Same set of circumstances..base line runs 10 times, airbox runs 10 times..the base line figures are as follows:

Base line
656.9RWHP

Tested with intake:

Intake
732.2RWHP!!! That is a 75.3 increase. No joke folks. Think the intake from the factory is not restrictive. Think again.

was wondering though since the intake give an extra 40hp do we need to have the ecu remapped? again? im planning on getting the ecu chipped from what i know chip is based on a stock system w/ stock filter, exhaust... i

since the new evo filter intake system add's 40 hp , hence more air, do we need a new remaped ecu to compensate for the extra added air?

or will the regular chipped ecu be able to handle the extar air ?

Cmon sharky, I never said that. I am somewhat skeptical though. If the price is right, I would like to test independantly and come to my own conclusion.

You know me, I'm a hard sell. Don't believe the hype.
