Nice find.
My old co-worker Ben had a Blue R32 and it completely changed my mind of what a Volkswagen was.
He took a long desolate 120 degree sweeper outside our job at 50 miles and the car was dead flat, handled like it was on rails and accelerated with the voracity more in keeping with something developed by Porsche.

^^^ Yeah I felt the same way I took the 337 on a Saturday run with our local enthusiasts here in DC/MD/VA and we hit the back roads and this little car impressed me...it handled quite well albeit slight push on entry and a bit floaty mid corner at the limit but still I would consider it predicatable and very good handling...and it braked very well and if kept in the powerband axcellerated nicely for the power it makes!

The Kid is infamous around these parts
That car is simply unreal! There was one on Ebay over the summer with 2k miles in CT. Too bad the owner wanted $25k for it and was not flexible. I was at Waterfest this year at Englishtown. We were looking for some Turbo Twist for the wife's Cabrio Love the GTI classics and any S Audi!

Good luck with it!

^^^ thanks man...yeah I got it at a good price for what it was and the condtion and number of miles. Seems like these cars really hold their value quite well and people drive them, it's not uncommon to see over 100k miles on these cars in the classifieds... I was lucky to find a 337 for sure as they are the lowest build numbers.

I like it, we have alot of them over here in Ireland.

The GTI being more popular than the R32, plus easier to tune

^^^ yeah with the turbo on the 1.8 T figure tuning would be easier and the engine more responsive to tune, plus turbo upgrade would be something that would take well to tuning also if someone wanted to mod their GTI...
