Anyone heard of this type of performance upgrade? Do larger diameter headers really improve the horsepower like this?

 

32HP is definately believeable, esp. if the stock ones are real small and poorly designed. I gained a tad over 20 to the wheels on my acura w/ headers alone (not full exhaust). Some guys I know are getting a tad over 30 on the bigger v6 models because the factory headers are very restrictive (usually done for various reasons, sound/cost/emissions)

 

Good headers have a better bang for the buck on a NA motor versus a turbo one.
