Just wanted to share how useful these cars are. Moved from Maryland to Hawaii in October and bought a RTS and some rack accessories. Decided this weekend to load up my 12' 6" kayak on top and drive the 30 mile trek from my house in Ocean Pointe to Kailua beach park and kayak out to the "Mokes" Bird Sanctuary. Even at 65-70mph on H3 the car was very stable, but the crosswinds wanted to push her from side to side at times.

Also had my picture taken about 20 times since the locals said this is the first time they ever saw a Porsche Turbo with a kayak on top over there.

 

Thats awesome...., i wouldn't be nervous driving with the kayak up there.... I would be more nervous of getting it up and down without it touching the paint!

 

I'd be more nervous of spilling all the salt water all over the paint when I was done kayaking. But then I guess the air is filled with salt also - oh the sacrifices we make to live in paradise!
