N75 Valve Replacement - Split in Hoses

Just about to fit my new N75 valve and noticed the hose going from the valve to the y-pipe has a split in it

I've heard the N75 valve can be awkward to reconnect, so I was wondering, should I replace the hose with a new OEM one, or would a longer length of hose help?

Did you keep the original hose?
Did you retain the 90* elbow?

What kind of hose did you use?

I noticed the only part of the N75 hosing that had a hose clip in place was the end which attaches to the y-pipe. Do the other hoses need a hose clip or not?

I used a 6 inch piece of regular vacuum hose, put a "pigtail" in it, so I have a little room to remove the valve and disconnect the hose easier. I put zipties on EVERY hose I could see. If that hose pops off, you're in big trouble.
