Picked up a 2002 996TT today

I've been looking for one for a couple of months and picked mine up today.

It's a 2002 with 20,100 miles, slate grey with black interior. Completely stock.

Already have some parts on the way from Bumperplugs: front plugs, wiper delete plug, and painted bumperettes.

Also have a factory slate grey GT2 rear lid and wing coming, and GT2 rear carpet. Got super-lucky on that find.

997SSK will be ordered shortly, the stock shifters on these still confound me with the length of throw.

Obligatory crappy cellphone pic:

Hey now, that's not totally stock. You have clear front markers.

Looks good.

Nice find - '02 with only 20K miles. Like new! Great color, too. Congrats and enjoy - these cars are a blast!

very clean, and good choices on your mods. though i've never understood the wiper delete. to each his own. re: ssk. agreed. first time i drove one, the throw reminded me of a 60's vw bus. seriously. congrats!

Slate grey was my first choice of color, so I'm glad I was able to find a good one.

As for the wiper delete: It doesn't really rain here. And I won't be driving this in the rain if it does. There are enough examples with scratches due to rear wiper that it just makes sense to me on many levels.

Looks great! (even with the cell phone pic). Completely agree on the 997 SSK -- it was one of the first mods for me. I would also recommend a flash. For some reasons, they make a bigger difference on our cars than most.

Power mods will come soon enough. Audibly, it is rather sewing-machine-like right now.

I had a 2001 that I sold a while ago, and have been wanting another.

yeah, those scratches are nasty. my last car had 'em, this one doesn't. strange. i wouldn't miss the wiper as much. it's the seat heaters i miss now. it was 30 in calabasas a few weeks back. now it's 85. gotta love SoCal. enjoy that car.

I used a black zip tie to keep the wiper in place -- works like a charm and is not noticeable. I would encourage you to reconsider your stance on driving in the rain (on those rare occasions in Southern California). These cars are fun to drive rain or shine! Of course, you might be worried about the other L.A. drivers who don't have much experience in the rain.

Delete the wiper! the look is so clean and really changes the rear of the car. On that note DRIVE IN THE RAIN! these cars are awesome to drive in the rain and you don't need a rear wiper to do it!

Great pick up! I picked up a very similar car 4 years ago and still remember the feeling.

I'm the kind of person who details my wheel wells. Not driving in the rain just saves me a lot of time

I'm from Chicago originally and also have lived in Texas. What we get here can hardly be called rain most of the time

Gorgeous! Perfect color and exactly what I'm looking for too. Very envious. Did you happen to buy this from Sherri in Woodland Hills? Looks like a slate car I saw online. . I can't wait to see the GT wing once you get that on. Congrats again! Enjoy it in good health
