When you buy a Ruf car from Ruf, I know it has a RUF VIN#, but does Ruf buy the Car from porsche with a Porsche VIN# and re-VIn# the car??? I know they totally strip the car down. also I you order a Ruf Turbo R is that car built from a regular 996 or an actual turbo? Or is that car just a bunch of parts that ruf buys from porsche and then builds the car from random porsche parts.. sorry for the multi-part question but it has been driving me NUTS

 

Well, I´m not sure myself, but by my recollection, Ruf only gets the PARTS from porsche and then builds a new car from scratch. Wouldn´t really have much more value if it were just a rebadged Porsche.

 

The R Turbo is usually built on a narrow body base (higher top speed that way) but you could do pretty much whatever you want with RUF....They will build you YOUR car...

 

Ruf Vin cars are built from scratch using some Porsche stuff and some Ruf stuff. They are a manu, their Vin cars have never had a Porsche Vin. They buy the shell, parts...etc.

 

I would assume that RUF offers a 4 year/50K powertrain warranty?

 

RUF cars start with WO, porsche cars start with WP in the vin number.

Also RUF orders the sheel from Porsche, it took porsche 1 month to dealer ours
