That's what 10 years of safety equipment (read = weight) will do to a car. I have read a thread on here a while back where somebody with a 490 or 520 package dynoed there car & it came out at 490 or 520 hp.... to the WHEELS. Also in the Excellence articles on the RUF cars, the writers seemed to recognize a higher level of hp than stated & when they asked Alois Ruf, he just smirked.

IIRC, AdamT's yellowbird doesn't have the rear quarter air vents...?
That's because the NACA ducts on the rear 1/4 panel were actually found to have air coming out of them rather than forcing air down through the intercooler. So for the customers' cars there were no 1/4 panel ducts.

The GT2 is for pimps only. I aspire to be a budget pimp one day and own one.

Still love those wheels on the bird.

Here's a picture of one of the two CTR yellow birds here in Bahrain. It was taken right before the GrandPrix race in the Cup Car pits.

Hey '03 Turbo, I've heard the new Bahrain track is awesome. Will the Porsche Club there ever be able to run on part or all of it?

You guys live in such a big place if you start at one end of the country and accelerate you're in to the next country before sixth gear! ;>)

Garey it is more than awsome. Porsche club has events planned over there all the time. Last one was about a month ago. I've run on both the whole track and the smaller, much more challenging and technical track.

Yeah we're a small island country. Our forefathers made a wrong left turn and instead of Plymouth Rock, they landed here. I guess map reading was a skill they lacked even back then.

This is the original "yellowbird" that broke the record in 1987 @ 211.7 mph. This car is the only one built with the air ducts in the rear quarter panels, and at this exact moment, im not sure just how many were built, but will get back to you guys. Or just come by and see it, its beautiful!!!!
