I have tried serveral time, second and third gear WOT the car will max at .6 bar. It pulls very strong, but I'm hearing people getting .8 to .9 bar on a completely stock car. I don't want to bring it to the dealer just yet as they will have to beat on the car and then tell me theres nothing wrong. My car is completely stock except for a pair of EVO DV's.

Unless you have the X50 package (larger intercoolers, larger turbos, GT2 oil pump, reinforced gearbox, different engine computer program), which was introduced in 2002, 0.6 to 0.7 bar is exactly correct.

The X50 or Turbo S will usually spool 0.8-0.9 bar, sometimes 1.0, and GT2 hits 1.0-1.1.

AJ is correct. Although my old '03 used to boost up to .8, it ran a consistent .6-.7 depending on the conditions and fuel I used. If I ran it on unleaded 103, it'll spike to .8 for a couple of seconds and then go back to .6-.7 so no need to get worried.

how to see .7 or .8 (stock ECU)

Ditto, until you upgrade your ecu. If you want to see .7, run at agout 2600 RPM's in 4 or 5 gear and then gun it, you should see .7 and maybe .8 once in a while

Correct. The higher the gear, the more load you put on the engine per a given RPM.

Also, ambient air temp plays a large role in your peak boost. The cooler the air, the harder it will be to see .8 or even .7 bar. On a hot, humid day, you will see .7-.8 more easily than on a cool, dry day.

Here is the stock boost curve on the K16s (1):

As you can see, there is an initial spike of .8x bar which falls off to .65ish bar and then rises back up to .7x bar at the end.

same here, before the upsolute, 0.6-0.7. Now, $500 chip gets 0.9-1.1 making the best bang for the buck.

AJ996tt, I grew up in Richardson Tx. Your birth year is same as mine, and I also practice medicine. Did you by any chance attend Richardson High? '83 grad. Ted
