Can anyone ID this shifter?
Although I have heard from a high end tuner guy that the OEM porsche part is easier on the tranny Syncros so that is one of the only reason he prefers the 997 unit. Not sure if that is truely fact or fiction. I would really like to have that confirmed my a person that really knows these trannies and cars. So much gets said that some times these stories can be such wives tales.
Due to the cost of a tranny fix alone if that is the case I could see the 997 unit being worth the extra cost.

I tried both of them on the same day. Leaving the console out I can change the shifter in 10 min or less. I kept going back to the B&M. Finally I reinstalled the console and put everything back together with the B&M.
I also installed the EVOMS billet shift linkage. That made fine tuning the shifter a snap. I guess what some call notchy I call precision. The B&M is very precise and has positive gate engagement. I just like it better.
The basically new 997 SSK will be in the for sale section soon.
