Airbag deactivation bar -- Durametric codes anyone?

I have the Professional version of the Durametric cable and run version 6 of the Durametric software. Does anyone know the codes for turning on the setting for the Child Seat Airbag Deactivation Bar? If so, would you please share detailed instructions for doing this procedure? Would like to get some buddy time with my kids but I've never been happy with the infant seat in the back (placement of buckle receptacles is too far forward).

I never even thought of that. This is a good question. Is there a way to self deactivate the passenger airbag so a child seat can be installed? I have a 2001 that does not have any switches for deactivation present. Also, I live in CA and per law, kids under 12 must be in back unless there are no seats in the back (or all the seats are filled). Even if I do get the airbags deactivated, can I put my 6yo in the front without getting a ticket?

Original post is about the Airbag Deactivation Bar that is available for a little over $200. Physical installation is a snap (front two seat bolts). What I'd like to learn is whether I can configure this using a PRO Durametric on version 6 Durametric software (and if so, how?) Thanks.

Found out Durametric (even the Professional version) does only VERY little coding on the 996. I guess I didn't read the Durametric matrix closely enough (http://www.durametric.com/modelfeaturematrixv6.aspx). Returning Professional version and getting the Enthusiast version (and saving around $400). Short answer is the airbag deactivation bar can't be "toggled on" with ANY Durametric on 996.

I did some research as well and you are correct. Durametric will not be able to activate this feature. However, I did see quite a few threads about dealers activating the feature for free provided your bar is installed with a proper seat. If you intend to use it with a Porsche seat, I would make a call to your local dealer and see if they would do it as a courtesy since it is a safety issue.
