Plenum Leak Test - How to Create Pressure?

Hi,

I tryed to do a plenum leak test but I think there is any thing wrong.

I lowered the engine, disconnet the Y-pipe and install the leak tool to the plenum. Next, put air but could not saw/feel pressure inside the hoses. I listen the air run inside the plenum and hoses. I spray all the hoses and plenum with water+soap and couldn´t detect any leak.

If there are no leaks I think the air goes to inside the engine, correct?

What can I do to the air does not enter into the engine?

What are the correct procedures and fases to do a plenum leak test?

Regards,
VS

I would personally test from the turbos with the y-pipe in place. Or at least test again when you put the y-pipe back.

Is the air pressure running out as fast as you put it in? Like a big leak?

If everything is sealed up tight this should hold pressure, and slowly drop.

Hi Tom,

I did the test in 2 phases:

1ş Did a test from the turbos to the end of the Ypipe (block the end and the others holes) - I did not found leaks;

2ş Did the test from the plenum - I did not found leaks but I could not get pressure. I think the air goes to inside the engine by the Inlet Valve. I´m correct? What I have to do to block the air at the inlet valve?

Thanks

When you took the y-pipe off you disconnected, 2-3 hoses? ( My intake is not stock, can't remember)

You need to plug those, and it should hold pressure.
