Is this normal for a CF lip?
I recently purchased and installed a CF lip. I'm happy with the overall look on the car, but was a bit surprised to see two pretty noticeable seams in the lip (see pictures below). The vendor has told me that this is normal, but I'm looking for some validation from folks on whether this is really that normal. This is my first CF part, so I'm just not that knowledgable or experienced on what to expect with CF. However, for a part that costs 3 to 4 times more than polyurethane, I was expecting a little more quality.

I had mine painted after a week or so, but do not recall anything like that prior to painting and I looked it over very well.

the seams are where the carbon fiber material were mated together. using a long one piece of material would cause a lot of waste, but they deff could have done a better job with the overlapping, and no its not a real carbon fiber piece its just a carbon fiber layer on top of fiberglass or some other similar material. look on the back side of the splitter you will probably see the material its actually made out of

I also have Ray's CF lip on my 996tt and no seam that is visible
Thanks for all the inputs. I didn't think this was normal. I talked with the vendor and he has agreed to exchange the CF lip for me when the new batch arrives in 6-8 weeks. I will keep you up to date on how it goes.
I really appreciate our advice and support Chuck. It's one of the reasons why I like to spend time here discussing our cars, researching products, and engaging the vendors. I'll let you and others know how this all turns out. For now, I'm OK waiting for an exchange. However, I do plan on checking out the polyurethane lip (aero style) since there's a vendor that's local to me. If I decide to go that direction, I may look to just return the CF lip for a refund given that a replacement is not readily available. I also appreciate everyone else's inputs. Thanks for the support!
