Thanks to Peter at Wheel Experts!

My HRE 841s are begining to fade to a purple color. The crappy anodized black finish that HRE uses has zero durability and I have found it is a common problem with their anodizing process.

Anyhoo ... I called Peter to ***** about it and he jumped on it right away. He got HRE to cover the problem under warranty and I am now going to have them Powder Coated Black. The problem is, I have to take the wheels off and send them to HRE. I'll wait until the Viper gets back and do it then.

DON"T GET AN ANODIZED FINISH FROM HRE ...

I just wanted to say thanks to Peter for standing behind his client and getting this fixed for me.

THANKS PETER!!!

Bill.....no need for all the hoopla....just doing my job. We always stand behind the client, most of the people who have ever done business with me know that.

but thanks anyways for the unsolicited post

On a side note, there actually is no warranty on HRE anodizing.

Just so you know, that is the nature of black anodized. When I inquired about doing my Kinesis wheels in black anodized, they warned me about the purple/green color they will turn over time. I don't think it's hre's fault...it's just the nature of black anodization...fyi

I couldn't speak anymore highly of your business dealings. It was a pleasure doing business with you (much like the original poster said).

That is one bad thing, having to send your wheels back. Oh well guess that is the price we pay for having great wheels!!

I also had black anodized on my 847Rs and the dealer ****ed them all up using some abrassive cleaner. I wasn't aware that they would turn purple over time. Good thing I sold them I guess.

Awesome to hear that Peter got your back. There's no one better to buy wheels from than him
