here is my dilema , need opinions

So i used to have a 2007 997 tt , then i traded it in last year an for a rare find, 2008 clk 63 amg black series with 700 miles. I now have a itch again and in a position to buy a turbo, but cant do a 997, I was looking at 2001 996 turbo, the prices are where i am comfortable and keep the black as well. what do you think , any thing i should be looking on a 2001 turbo with 46 k miles for 40k. I found one locally (tip) , haven looked at it yet, but will soon. whats the going price for a 2001 turbo with 46 k miles and what to watch out for

thanks in advance, it will be god to come back on 6 speed

That is what I just paid for my '01. Clean and 49k miles, so it this is a clean one price sounds good.

Good luck

2nd gear pop out is the key... and has it been modified...

From what I understand, tiptronic goes for a few k less than manual. $40k sounds about right.

Main issues:
* 2nd gear popout (manual);
* Coolant lines attachment failing.

I've been looking for a while and that's the two main issues that came up.

I have a friend that is seriously looking for a TT with cash in hand. He is looking for a tip and having a hard time finding a nice car for 40k. Cars are out there but seems good cars go for more.

I paid 39k for a 01 with 38k last year. It had no mods. I changed the light switch and accumulator.Mods so far, ssk, flash, exhaust, PSS10, wheels and Gt2 size tires. Considering GT2 slave conversion. I took out clutch assist and like the feel much better.

Are you talking about the gaps? I have seen that on several occasions now?! Do people scrape the front bumper and break the tabs inside?

It seems like the rubber seal is missing? Yes something odd about it. We need higher resolution pics.

Maybe Markski can help you locally. I know of two good Tiptronics in LA, I am helping these guys sell their TT's.

- 01, 40k mi., Silver/Blk very clean and stock...$40k
- 02, 47k mi., Seal Grey/Grey, modded 500hp, H&R springs/sways...$45k

I think for a 6speeder a few grand off is doable. Also Stanford has an 05 TT-S

Feel free to pm me if I can help.
