997 Trans Mount Install

Since I had my car up on jack stands changing out my plugs/coils/exhaust I thought it would be a perfect time to change out my transmission mount.
From the posts I could find on the topic seems as though most that have done this job all thought it was easy. NOT!
If you have access to a lift it'll be MUCH easier but if you're using jack stands be prepared for a little bit of a challenge.
Keep in mind that you have to remove the plastic covers to gain access to the mount.
The nuts and bolts are all tight and I found that I couldn't remove any of them with a 3/8" drive ratchet. You need to use a 1/2" drive ratchet. No problem, right?
Not so, because the two bolts that go through the rubber portion of the mount are blocked on both sides by rubber hoses. A 1/2" ratchet and socket will not have access to the bolts and even a 3/8" ratchet is a squeeze but it will fit. I then had to use another wrench to give me a little more leverage together with my ratchet to crack the bolt.
What is really needed here is a deep offset box wrench. But how many of us have one in a 16mm size?
I'm curious to see what all the other guys did to remove these bolts and do the job in 15 minutes!!!
Maybe I'm just not mechanically inclined!!!

Are you lifting the trans slightly with a jack, to take the tension off the mount? I seem to remember this as about a 1/2 hour job including jacking the car.

I had a shop do mine. It was so easy that they didn't even charge me.

I thought I would notice a difference because my old one was torn. Feels the same to me.

Yup, supported trans with a floor jack.
It's just getting to those two damn bolts that go through the mount.
I'm hoping someone will chime in with what tool they used to remove the bolts.
