Radar hardwire

I know this topic has been covered in the past, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer.
Is there switched power in the overhead/light console of my 03 996 cab, so I can direct wire my detector there? If so where is it? Upon operating the lights they all seem to work without the key in or unswitched. Or would you suggest I run it down the a pillar as others have done? It seems easier to run to the light console if there is switched power in there.
Thanks if anyone knows,
Neil

Ken,
You talking about a test light I can get at the shack? So you are saying there is a switched power source in the dome light?
Sorry for my ignorance. Damn, your tough.
