Talking Fuel Pressure Regulator

Do you guys know whether the fuel pressure regulator for the 2002 996tt is imbedded with the fuel pump inside the fuel tank?

Talking

I am wondering whether a bad fuel pressure regulator can cause the "hot start" problem.

Anyway, I think the fuel pump of my car is likely to have problem since it has been making some whinning sound.

Most of the porsche mechanics never even replaced one.... I did it 3 times... its *****. go to SG or somewhere where they know whats up. if u do one on your own- u will be towing the car to a dealer- they charge u crazy $$$ cause they want u to drop the engine. u dont want that.

Haha so do I... You know what man.. guess who can do it these days? I had to do it last month to go from a 3.8 back to a 5 bar and dammit that **** hurt. You're hands are smaller than mine that still doesn't explain why Porsche would want to locate those stupid hex bolts in those locations. In fact that whole air pump bracket it the dumbest thing I've seen on a 996 TT...

Alex,

Why did you switch back to the 5 bar given that you have the larger injectors and fuel pump? I thought the 5 bar was only for the OEM injectors and you do not need a 5 bar with the larger injectors?

do you guys think than an adjustible fuel press regulator
would be better to dial in a desired A/F READING
rather than a 5 bar that would be a guess where
you end up?
