The Portefield R4S is a good street pad as well. Low to moderate dust with a good bite.

Ferodo Pads

I have been using Ferodo pads at the track and for the street. They are relatively low dust but rather loud for the street. They have held up well at the track.

How do you like the Hawk's? Are you using HPS's? Any track time on them? I'm looking for a more aggressive pad for street and 2x / month track use.

Thx,
Tim

Don't go Cool Carbon unless you want to mimic an 18-wheeler when pulling up to lights. Mine were fine until 100 miles or so...then became the squeekiest pads on earth. I had to eventually switch them out, and only use them at aggressive mountain drives.

I have to 2nd that ^. Cool Carbon pads were the biggest piece of crap brake pad I've ever had the displeasure of trying on this car. Lot of dust, pretty noisy, and basically disintegrated when the car was driven hard. Take a look at the picture of the pads with a couple of weeks of hard street driving and 3x 20minute sessions at the track. Garbage....

Thank you for posting pictures of them. I had similar experience with the Cool Carbon and mine disintegrated in a very similar fashion.

On past vehicles, I have always used Carbotech pads with great success. I will say that dusting and squeal is elevated on them, but not as severe as the Cool Carbon. However, the pad performance is really great.

I use the XP8/10 on my car front/rear with great success. However, you may want to consider the AX6 for street use as it is made more for the auto-x crowd with more initial bite and cold performance.

Anyone else ever use Carbotech?

-Chris

Not on a Porsche but I used Carbotech's on a Corvette. I used the XP8 on the street and XP16 on the track. Dust wasn't too bad with the XP8 but I think my 911 brakes dust much more than the Vette ever did.

I went with the Porterfield carbon pads since I do 3-5 DE's/year. I just upgraded a few weeks back & am very happy. There is a little bit of squeak, but not a big drag. No brake dust after a long weekend at VIR.
