Thank You Tim941NYC!
I headed out to strong island this am to have Tim swap out my lwfw(964RS version) and spec stage 3 clutch, which actually was a Sachs clutch. Previous owner bought it installed and told me it was all spec. Anyhow, it was on its way out, there was very little material left, as I believ it has over 20k miles on it, and Alan did track the car from what I remember.
Tim was awesome, his build is insane, and from the plethora of sport bikes, he is addicted to speed.
Huge kudos as Tim talked me into going back to EOM(marks old one, with less then 3k miles on it, it is in great shape.) dual mass flywheel....I love it! It is mated to a CM fiber tough.
The car behaves crisper shifting, and throws very easy. No more chatter!
Now the only issue, as Todd had told me, the lwfw was tuned to run higher idle, so now OEM back on the car does idle at 1050 rpm. I am going to talk to Todd to see if I can have Alan's tune modified back to lower idle.
Steveken was there, great guy, he was kind enough to buy me some window weld, when Trans was out we did the Trans mount mod.
Tim also loaned me his torque solution MM, and I did so some photos and will post a DIY, pretty easy stuff.
The Trans mod and MM def stiffen the cars behavior in shifting under hard pulls, it feels awesome, with everything I could not be happier.
Oh yeah, Tim talked me into(Steve as well) into removing driveshaft.....whoa, another benefit, the car feels like it wants to slide a little. When I return in 2 weeks for one of Tim's creations, X pipe custome exhaust, I will remove front diff.
Stevekens car has Tim's handiwork, beautiful welds, the car sounds awesome and we think it will be less restrictive then my current set up.
Thanks again Tim, really a stand up guy.
And lest I forget thank you Mark for setting all this up. Tim knows the Porsche, is the Porsche and be the Porsche.

Awesome, I think Tim is probably the go to guy for questions regarding the 996 on the east lol. And is anyone around NJ/NY that has an rwd conversion kind enough to take me for a spin before I decide whether or not to do it?
Stephen,
Thank you for the kind words. It was great to put one more face to a name. You are quite the hands on guy and hope you enjoyed getting into the nuts and bolts of your TT.

Since this is an appreciation thread I'll chime in too. A few months ago my oil check valve, the one that connects the engine case to the oil tank cracked. Because of this crack oil leaked all over my garage. Yeah, not good. I spoke with two Porsche Mechanics and several very knowledgeable guys about my situation. They all said I was going to have to drop, or partially drop, my engine. I don't know Tim. We've never met but I went ahead and asked him his opinion. Well, that was a lucky move on my part because Tim laid some knowledge on me. Because of Tim's generous help I managed to remove and replace my oil check valve without dropping my engine.
Thanks Tim, you da man.
