Question GT2 bodykit for Turbo?

Hi guys. I'm new to the world of Porsches and was just curious if Porsche, or anyone, sells a GT2 bodykit that fits the 996 TT? Thanks.

Retrofitted? I always thought the body (minus the bolt on stuff) was the same in a TT and GT2, but then again I've never examined a GT2 up close.

that makes sense to me, u don't get it?

u're trying to make ur TT looks like a GT2, of course u have to retrofitted, no matter if it's bolt on or whatever.

Gert is the good source, but i wouldn't want to make my TT looks like GT2. just my opinion

You can also get the front and rear from MASHAW...

http://www.mashaw.com

I am not a huge fan of aftermarket aerodynamics, but I did call them about this. The rear spoiler runs about $3K and the front which was scheduled to be ready this month is about $1200.

I have not bought anything from them so I cannot verify anything firsthand, but I have heard a lot of good things about them from the BMW crowd. YMMV...

Hahaha.... No, that was not my intention. I don't even own a Porsche. It was just a question I had. Just curious to see if it could be done. But I agree... I would not put a "turbo" badge on a Carrera.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

By the way, is that a GT2 on the top right corner of this forum in grey? If so, what mods have been done to it?

"It would be like putting a 'turbo' badge on the back of a Carrera Coupe. " - not really valid comp, because a badge doesn't add much to looks and is solely meant to deceive ... while a GT2 body kit does improve (or at least significantly change) the look of the TT.

I dont really agree either with the comparision " putting turbo badge on a carrera" the Gt2 and Turbo are both extremely fast. I love the look of a Gt2 the front bumper is mean and the wing is beautiful when seen in person... The turbo takes on a entirely new character with that body kit. I have to admit though If the car is not lowered a bit, it does not look rite.. also the Gt2's rear rims are wider...but who cares go for it!!1

I love the GT2 front bumper and am considering getting one for my TT cab. It looks great in person and is much more aggresive looking then the standard bumper. I'm not a big fan of the rear wing (it doesn't fit a cab anyway). I personally love the Aerokit rear wing. If I knew for sure it would fit a cab, I'd buy one. JMO

Ruiner,

"There are many 'kits' out there that 'resemble' the GT2 (spoiler and front bumper), but for someone to make a kit that matches the GT2 would be 'ricey' and wrong as a 996TT is not a GT2. It would be like putting a 'turbo' badge on the back of a Carrera Coupe"

I completely disagree with this statement, one is not trying to fool people into believing they have a GT2. Your analogy is more correct if somebody puts a GT2 emblem on their TT, which is not the case here. I think Chad has a GT2 wing on his car, are you going to call him a ricer?

I have been considering putting a GT2 front on my TT becuase I think it looks vastly better. I like that it is a factory piece and am not sure I entirely like the very aggressive afrtermarket front ends (i.e. Techart). Only issue is there is tons of work needed to install the bumper due to different radiator plumbing and palcement.
