He just walked away while everyone was laughing. Hey at least the guy made me look good

my 1991 965 C2 Turbo pulled away from a 360 CS on Players Run last year. The guy came up to me afterward and said his speedo was reading 184 mph and I pulled away from him. 360's are nice cars, but not the fastest.

I was at the local drag strip with my BMW M Coupe when some nimrod approaches me and says he watched a few of my passes. Then he put his nose in the air and told me how his factory stock Porsche 996 GT2 would see me off on the strip.
I blinked a couple of times and asked him why he thought so. He replied that he had 470 bhp and and 1,100 kg car (about 2400 lbs) and that the magzines all show a GT2 is much faster than an M Coupe.
The Coupe sat there with 26" slicks and the carbon fibre hood open revealing the Garrett turbo and yards of braided Earl's as I remained mute, half in fascination and half in disbelief.
He smiled and walked away knowingly wearing ... a Ferrari cap, content in the knowldge that his stock GT2 can do better than 10.7 @ 136 MPH on the quarter mile.
Yes, ********* drive all sorts of cars, even Porches!

I've never understood the stubborn ignorance of some car people - for every car you own, there are 10 that will kill it (unless maybe you're in Shanks viper 
). I think it's basically that they don't know better...
In my old car, I had a guy in a 997 (not S) say "yeah right" out of the corner of his mouth then roll the window back up when I looked over on the road. Too bad there was traffic, I would have given him a bit of a surprise.

A guy like that will never race anybody content in his ignorance "that I'd beat them if I wanted to", but never really opens the car up like it's intended. The 360 is a nice car but a stoplight champion it is not. Not that a Turbo is either but bench-top racing is too funny.

yes it is true that the tt is a faster vehicle than the 360. But, c'mon guys this does not mean that one guy who doesn't know about cars represents the entire ferrari community. i have owned 3 turbos over the years and enjoyed them all. ask me how many times i blasted out on my neighborhood roads to enjoy the extra hp and i can probably count them on one hand. owning my first ferrari, i can honestly say i have never enjoyed driving a car as much as this one. i use my car predominantly for touring purposes and love it. so just scratch this one guy as not being much up on car knowledge and stop the bashing...it is immature.
