Smoke question

My 996TT has the agency power exhaust which keeps both halves of the engine completely separate. I let my girlfriend drive while I followed behind and noticed that under full throttle the car put out smoke from the left (drivers side). It was a steady flow and I believe it was black.

I have been waiting to install a high power tune but my tuner tells me I have a boost leak. I took the car to a local shop and the pressure tested the intake. They tell me nothing is wrong. Any ideas what could be going on? What would cause either too little air or too much fuel to go to 1/2 the engine?

Maybe a bad or disconnected O2 sensor on that side. Any codes?
A boost leak would affect both sides the same.

You trust your tuner for a tune but you do not trust him when he tells you the car has a boost leak?

What do the short/long term fuel trims look like?

Sincerely,

Macster.

I'll bet the "tuner" is remote...and the local shop is the only one that can actually lay hands on it.

My read of the situation...

Looking for intake leaks is NOT simple..OP should RESEARCH and READ here, then quiz his shop to make sure they did it correctly...
