2005 turbo S serial numbers.
2005 turbo S serial numbers.
I just got my first Porsche! Its AMAZING to say the least. I was not looking for one it fell in to my lap (I am still alive). It was pawned, lost and then bought by me the end of story. ITS A MACHINE!!! I am keeping it for my kids to drive it, the oldest one is 15. That being said.
There are people claiming that a 2005 batch is better than the 2004. Some of them sort of make sense
. Here is an example: "PORSCHE 911 996 TURBO "S" CABRIOLET LAST HAND ASSEMBLED 489BHP MODEL;1 OF 12?"- eBay UK.
"Only the last few built in 2005 were LOVINGLY HAND-BUILT, OFF ASSEMBLY (same as the £300K 250GT); with higher 489BHP achieved on those late specially tuned 05 "S" engines only, (officially X50 450, but vastly superior); apparently due to the use of power boost Maps from the GT2 used as a "last Hurrah" for the very last 996s ever built; (as a guessestimate, maybe a dozen rhd built like this?)" Chassis No: X-XS670372.
Don't get me wrong I have a dog in this fight my serial is a later one 685276 5/05 production. My thought is if only a few were built in 2005 how come the spread is so high 14874 unless these are totally random? I have seen some other 67xxxx numbers. Is it impossible to build a data base along with Porsche personal if this car is such a rarity or is it?
I know I am new but have been a vintage Rolex collector for many years and we always go to the serial number even if it fake
.
Please help me understand.

Watches and cars. Rolexes and Porsches. These work well together!

Both 996TT and Daytona have been my grails of a kind and it is a real pleasure to finally own both. What is interesting, both of them have been made in 2002, both in black

Have fun!

Good to know we all have good taste here!

Seriously?
People are actually seeking to create marginal differences and rarity with these ridiculous HP differences?
Crap, just toss a tune on it and you surpass Porsche stock offerings.
Don't drive the car, make it a garage queen, collect up the paperwork that tells this "special story"... And your heirs will pull in an extra few $k.

Beautiful 6263! Had something along those lines, but not quite the same as yours ;-)

Please excuse the "S" badge, that's the way car came from a previous owner, car has been "S"-less in just a few days from taking that pic

The pic showing the "Turbo S" badge above is mine. My car is a 2002 regular Turbo with some gadgets here and there making it a bit more powerful than a real Turbo S - I guess that's why previous owner decided to put "S" on the back. I did not like it that way so the "S" is gone.
