Any One Change From 18g Wheel to New 18gxt Wheel

Hey Guys,,After dwelling on going to the K24/20gxt from my K24/18g just using pump gas,93 octane, with my below signature mods only,,,
After all the research again and input from my tuner,I decided not to..
BUT now I am 'thinking' about going to the new GXT 18 wheel over my 18g one??...Any one done it yet?
LOL..I just wish I knew at the start I was going to add those supporting mods > I would have went straight to the 3071s then...LOL..You never know...
But I did learn...

I'd like more info on the GXT upgrade as well. However, I may end up in 307x territory sooner or later as well.

What I have found out so far > That the GXT should give a cooler charge, same amount of lag and also flow more on the higher end,so more power BUT is it going to be noticable??

Heck, I'm on the fence about keeping my K24s and just sending them out and getting the 20gxt or sell them and get the Alpha 3076 Billets.

Decisions... decisions!

Funny you ask....at first I was going to do pump gas with Meth..since I have a HFS-6 Aquamist Meth Kit sitting here (Going to sell it now) but then I saw all the great results that Mark (prodigymb) is making with his cornhole fuel system...... so I'm going to do a e85 setup. So if anyone is in the market for a meth kit...pm me!

The Alpha 3076's are outdated, check out the Garrett GTX turbos. Yummy! The GTX2867r looks about perfect for a street TT.

Wasn't the point of the Alpha's to be direct bolt-on?

A pair of GTX2867r would require manifolds and external wastegates, no?

You sure about that? Just because Garrett came out more recently doesnt mean they wern't heavily behind the curve on new turbo tech (billet wheels, extended tips, more efficient cold side covers, agressive angled blades etc.)

FP Billet HTA76 wheel found the latest Alphas OWNs the 11 blade GTX wheel in terms of spool.

Allegedly the 11 blade can make more top end but I have yet to see a comparo. Alpha is a bolton turbo with a small hotside and internal wastegate so its not really apples to apples comparing it to a "fullbody" hta76 gtx76 which is not a bolt on stock location turbo.

just be careful about not running too much boost... E85 is great with lots of TQ.... but then rods bend too... just ask those who ran 1.5 bar on 3076s how long they did b4 they had motor failure... so be careful.... just a thought.
As far as E85 and huge injectors, sounds great but then tuning for it most often becomes a challenge... it all sounds too good to be true and when you get the inside info ( you should ask) it probably is...
It will work great but at what cost...
just my honest opinion and not slamming any product nor anyone else...

Obviously i'm not going to run gobs of boost on a stock motor...we're talking about logic here. If I plan to do that, then I'll crack the motor open and put rods in.

Mark - im curious if you actually know of someone bending rods at 1.5bar on E85 or if you are just speaking? there are only a handful of 996tts running on E85 and only one that damaged rods (not rest of motor) is Chris Green's car who was running alot more boost then 1.5bar ...

E85 is a lot less prone to knock and detonation then pump gas so I would rather run 1.4-1.5 bar on E85 then 1.3bar on 93 any day.

why do you see tuning as a problem? 1100cc injector will make 800-850 whp on E85 at 90-95% injector duty cycle or so - fact. tuning that is just as about the same as a 72-80# injector on gas just with more timing - also fact. you can get perfect idle and part throttle too.

when you get into 900+ whp range you need that 1600cc injector which can also be tuned to idle perfectly on stock ECU at STOICH A/F ratio and drive very well by several people including Todd K.

2150cc injector will not idle at stoich on stock ECU unfortunately from what we know so far but at 900+ whp that injector is overkill and runs at about 60% duty cycle so when you get up into those injector levels you certainly give up some driveability BUT the 1100s will drive like stock and make 800whp on E85 at 3.8bar base pressure. no need to fill forum with scare stories and unicorn myths about E85. i used to be a non believer like you, but i did my own research, my own math, talked to people that actually run it (not just read/write about it on internet while sitting at a starbucks), went for a ride in their cars and made my own decision. which is what i recommend to others.
