cd changer

I have found a cd changer(trunk mounted) from a 2001 turbo.Does anyone know if my car (2001 turbo) would be prewired for a factory cd changer or would I need to get the wiring harness to go from the back of the radio to the cd changer? Thanks. Charlie

I believe they're pre-wired. PET doesn't really show any different harnesses for car with the CD changer or without. You should be able to pull down the interior fabric down and see, not sure what side the wiring comes from though.

There are some misc parts you will need, I mounted a VW/Audi Phatnoise in that spot, and created a custom cable to connect it to the stock stereo. Worked well. I did end up buying the CD mounting bracket, and few other parts as my car did not come with a factory cd changer,so it did not have the mounting HW.

I may have the part numbers somewhere, if needed.

It looks like the parts you need are the support bracket, 3 nuts, 3 bolts to mount the bracket, 6 screws to mount the changer to the bracket, and 2 clamps for the bracket. For more information Click Here
