New to AM V8V and this forum
Hello,
I am finalizing a sale of my first 2006 AM V8V coupe with 24000 miles this evening. The dealer was asking $61k and I negotiated it down to $56,500. I'm having difficulty trying to find out online if this is a decent price as KBB does not show it. Interior and exterior are flawless and comperables seem to say it's fairly in line with price but can use another opinion. Any help would be appreciated. They will not go below $56,500.
Other options on the car:
heated seats
bluetooth
6 disk changer
ipod
navigation
Thanks

Seems a little steep to me also. Don't limit your search to just DC or you will never find a decent deal or the car that is best for you because there aren't enough of them for sale. There are fewer V8V's for sale in the entire country than there are used Accords at one of your local dealers. There are more Porsche's for sale in DC than there are V8V's for sale on the entire east coast.
Do a national search. If you find one you like try to get someone from the forum to look at it for for you initially. If they like it make a conditional deal and get it PPI'd locally, not by the party selling it. Then if that checks out, fly or drive to wherever it is and complete the transaction if it passes your final inspection and drive test. Then either drive it home or get it transported. If it doesn't pass YOUR sniff test, go home empty handed.

Thanks. Not sure if it can be attributed to the DC area but it seems exotic cars in this area go for a bit higher in price.
The price of these cars online seem to be all over the place with similar milage and year. Does it seem to steep or just on the higher side? In your opinion what should the car reasonably go for? Again, I'm having trouble trying to accurately value this model online. BTW - they just replaced all four tires with highend Bridgestones (forgot the model) and brakes also.
Oddly enough I met the owner of the car yesterday who sold it to a Landrover/Jag dealership. He happened to stop by as he left something in the trunk and gave me the full scoop on the car so it made me feel a bit more comfy, but I don't think they will go below $56,500.

If you really like it buy it. It was a stroke of luck finding the previous owner. Did you get his contact info? I'd get back in touch with him and ask if you can have a look at his repair records and also ask if he will give them to you should you purchase the car. You might also try to pry what the dealer gave him for it.

Funny enough, I did ask the previous owner all about the car and believed everything he told me. I also went down to the AM dealership and pulled the service records which matched up with everything he said (really, minor stuff plus the thermostat replacement). I WAS going to do a PPI but with only 24k miles and also speaking to the owner I think I'll pass on that. The car will be registered in MD and they do a one time rigorous inspection (which is bound for as long as you own the car). The dealeship guarantees it will pass inspection and also threw in a 2 month/2000 mile powertrain warranty. BTW - I do have the previous owners phone number and will ask him to give me the records if he has any. He was extremely nice and told me to call anytime or stop by his house. Sound good to you?
That's way too much for an 06

Rohnin, I appreciate your response but how much do you think it's worth?
My fully loaded 07 just sold for 47.5 with 26k miles (NOT what I got for it). That 06 should cost less
Wow! you think this car is THAT over priced?? If that's the case I should run the other way!! Thank you all for your input. I have decided to walk away from their offer.

Yes, it's THAT overpriced.
It's an '06. By '08 there were significant improvements that make the '08 the top of the 4.3L crowd. You can get a nice '08 for $60 all day long. That should be in the 40s, maybe high 40s cuz of the clean records and such, but still.
That said, it's a nice car in good shape. Just don't overpay for it.

I cannot thank you guys enough for your advice! I was just hours away from purchasing this vehicle at $56,500 and I have since called them and backed out.
I know this is easier said than done, but you may learn from my experience:
Save up, do what you must, and get an '09 (or later). The power and suspension differences are noticeable and worth it. I'm not disparaging the 4.3s (much), and there are many very happy long term owners. But if you're just getting started and a 4.7 is at all within reach...
If that's just not an option, which is a very respectable decision to make, at least get the colors and features you want. Miles are pretty meaningless. Service history, general history, and how well it scratches your "want" itch are more critical. Keep shopping and you'll find what you want. And maybe it's this very car, but $10k less.
Keep up the hunt. You'll be rewarded in the end. We're here to help...sort of.

I just bought my 2007 Vantage in August 2014, it had 2700 miles on it, came with a one-year Aston Martin preowned car warrantee and was being sold by the original dealer that sold it new. They were asking $75,000 for the car I bought it for $69,000. The car is loaded with every option but seat memory. I also had the dealer pre-wire my Valentine radar detector into the ignition system, and add a built for me Aston Martin plaque on the door threshold with my name on it. Another item to check besides the water pump, is the front cover gasket seal those are known to fail on earlier Vantages, if they do it's an engine and trans axle out fix and about a weeks time to do. Like others have said take your time by the most car you can afford do a national search and if you can buy from an Aston dealer.

Buy my previous 09
Morries Aston Martin in Minneapolis took my 09 in trade a few days ago - yes it's got 43,000 miles, but it was also UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY until I traded it in, and has a custom interior, and its an 09 meaning it is almost like a new one and is LESS COST than that 06 (and you can probably get it for less than they are asking).
I took care of ALL outstanding issues when I owned it, not that there was much needed. See pictures. You would be by far better off with this 09 Vantage.
