Agreed Prefurbia, that's one special V8Vantage... Yet I believe he's looking for a stick. As for Ron Avery's car... its a special one in a unique but awesome color... Merlot. I'd hold out for the 4.7 liter car. I've owned bot (an 07 and my current 13-S) Night and day difference.

It's absolutely striking but yes I'm looking for a manual. I just spoke to the dealership and they told me they are asking $60k for yours! Much more worth the asking price than the one I was looking at. If I was looking for an auto I would have pounced on yours!

I was really torn on trading for new, the car was that good. Im getting used to the 15. The new display shows all tire pressures... It allowed me to catch a nail in my tire after just a week of owning it. Other very minor but small nice touches.

OMG you guys! I had to post the dealers text response after I questioned his pricing on that 2006 AM V8V I was looking at for $60k! (see my OP). If this doesn't tell you what a sleeze ball this guy is I don't know what does! Thank Gawd I came to my senses and asked for you're input on this forum before I made a huge mistake! Here's the link to the V8V I was going to purchase and also the conversation below: http://www.jaguarchantilly.com/inven...d=0&MakeID=588

Curses, foiled again. I guess all the pictures and other stuff we post about "our" cars must just be CGI trickery and world wide interwebs fakes!

If it wasn't for that meddling sales guy we would have gotten away with it too! (read using Scooby Doo villian voice for effect).

Seriously, though, any sales person who tells you to not pay attention to research and pulls the "If you don't sign right away you'll miss out" crap should be avoided. When he realizes that he isn't selling anything due to his dishonesty maybe he can go back to selling used Kias at the "buy here pay here" place he worked at before...

Oh, I also noticed that he called the car an Astin. I'm not familiar with that brand. (Austin and Aston, yes but I've never heard of an Astin). Maybe that's the problem, you are checking prices on Aston Martin Vantages and he is selling a completely different brand of car

The crime is that the car is likely to eventually sell to someone who does no research and thinks a $60,000 'Astin' with 'only 25000 miles' and obly a decade old is a fair deal.

What a TOOL! Don't walk away from that deal, run sprint don't look over your shoulder. I still believe if you went to an Aston Martin dealer even though you might pay a little more than market, you're going to get a car that Aston Martin stands behind with a year warranty.
I sent you a P M with my phone # if you would like to bounce some thoughts off me.
Ron

I greatly enjoy the notion that auto forums are a poor source of information. I dare say that of all of the sources out there ever, on line forums are probably THE most reliable and valuable sources for actual info about cars. I'm certain that the sales clown doesn't know anything but at least I'd say he has a point if you'd told him that you asked on some Reddit page. But you didn't, so he doesn't, so he's just a tool.

Meanwhile, the beast of used car sales continues to feed on just enough suckers that they keep a place set for them no matter the car.

You'll find a better car at a better price.

By the way everyone; I'm 14, have never driven, don't own any Astins and just make up elaborate shopping and purchasing stories in order to impress all of you other 14 year old boys with vivid imaginations and really good modeling/rendering software. Keep it up guys, we've go them all fooled.

You know another area where slimy sales process is prevalent? The computer industry - I just got a few E-Mails from Dell, MSI and HP trying to sell obsolete (4th generation) I-7 laptop 'workstations' all for well over $2,000 when the 5th generation I-7's have been out for quite a while and the 6th generations should be shipping any day if not already. Because the generation is just on the spec's and not the label, its far too easy to unwittingly pay huge prices for a substandard computer.

most sales guys do not drive Aston's or other high end cars they sell, they can be so full of themselves.
Im going to the launch of the new Mclaren 570 here in Cape town on the 1st of October (AM and Mclaren are the same dealer locally) I may add this performance Lotus lookalike thing to my toy box but at least the sales guys down here are not full of S h one tee.

Tell that oaf to have a shagg and travel forums are the place to get info from real owners and drivers and these forums do not discriminate from normal working guys (like myself) to super rich we all have one thing in common we love our cars . and pass on info if it helps

So they just lowered the car AGAIN. It's now about $57k from $60k! Still waaaaaaaay too high for this car!
