Come on -- give him a chance to enjoy his 1-week old new ride first.

From the cars listed under your post, maybe you'd like to try a GT3 as well.

No one else really drives my car but it's nice to have the feature working since it's there. It would be useful when the car is in the shop or inspection whether the mechanic would change the position of the seat. I hate to have to figure out what my setting was afterward.

I don't doubt the GT3 would be an awesome car. I'm pretty stoked about my turbo right now. Friends and I went driving yesterday and it was awesome. The car rocks!!!

For those with memory seat feature, can you let me know whether the seat memory numbers are illuminated at nighttime. Mine does not - so I'm wondering if the memory unit itself is bad. Thanks.

Pretty sure they are illuminated. I can verify tonight if you still didn't get an answer by then.

Thanks. Looking forward to hearing back from you regarding the illumination. I know for a fact mine does not illuminate.

Koolkat- congratulations on your purchase. Hope you like your TT as much as I do mine!
My memory seat and bonnet/engine compartment releases do light up and work fine. Checked this morning driving into work while still dark out. My memory seat positions work- have to hold the '1' or '2' button until the seat stops- it is handy to have if I am moving the seat forward or backward to vacuum or to put something larger in rear seat area. Hope that helps.

One thing to try is to vacuum out the memory buttons very carefully as well as the hatch buttons. There's a not very well known issue where dirt can get in the buttons and cause different weird behaviors. Mine manifested itself by the memory not working and also by the engine hatch popping itself open every time I came to a stop while driving (at lights, in traffic, etc). This was on my old 996 C4 I bought new and not on my current Turbo, but they both use all of the same exact seat/memory/etc parts.

My dealer initially diagnosed it as a faulty control unit before figuring out this was the issue after replacing the unit didn't fix it. The location of the buttons makes it very easy for dirt to get in there since your shoes tend to pass over them every time you get in/out of the car.

Thank you so much for checking. Mine does not light up at all. The bonnet/engine button does light up but none of the memory buttons light up at all. Does this mean that the mine memory control unit is bad? Thanks.

My memory buttons don't light up either. The frunk and engine lid do light up however.

Does your memory button work even though they don't illuminate? Thanks.

If they don't light up and they don't retain the preferred setting for your seat when you press the M button and the 1 or 2 button as per owner's manual, then I would guess they don't work- maybe your independent mechanic can take a look/give you an estimate of what would be involved to fix.
