Like it says since the MAF sensors are soo sensitive on this platform who has done away with it & what are the Pro's and Con's?

EPL and EVOMS do to. I know almost 3 years ago I ran a MAF-less setup at 840rwhp. It's not speed density though. All of them are Alpha-N tunes because of the 7.8 isn't capable running a FULL speed density setup with everything happy.

 

It cant run speed density because stock map sensor is before the T/B and does not read manifold pressure. Also it is not a absolute sensor.

What power level are you looking for? There are plenty of people making great power (700+whp) with a MAF. I think you are giving up drivability. While not huge, it's noticable...

 

Not saying you can not run mafless just stating it is not a speed density tune. It cannot be..

 

You are 100% correct on the reasons. I was just telling the OP that MAF-less tunes are technically called an Alpha-N tune. Had explained to me from different tuners but I know right now I'd butcher it LOL!

Now you and I... We have Speed Density because it's just bauce mode.

I run mafless. My tuner did such a good job that I can't say I notice a difference between maf and mafless.

 

Cool so theres no real con's to doing this only performance benefits going Alpha-N?

before my last modds,when i was running A28 i was running mafless tune but i always had a fault code in the ecu(maf open circuit)witout check engine light but since Todd(proto)tuned the car there is no more any fault code and the car is running perfect and driveability is perfect.
